You might want to read the introduction to the book O'Malley just published with Lisa Marchiano and Sasha Ayad, "When Kids Say They're Trans," before you end up with egg on your face. It is a refutation that "true trans" exists.
O'Malley believes that some people benefit from transition, which is sterilization and mutilation. What are the criteria indicating who'll benefit? What are the benefits? Why hasn't she stated them?
"Some people may benefit from transition" is how science talks. Only a person who is bound by an unreasonable belief will refuse to consider the possibility out of hand. "What do we call the people who do this?" is therefore a rational question. If you can't speak about a thing because you lack a word for it, you will not act rationally about it (see also the word "woman").
