Lifetime athlete here, still. Glad the obvious has happened and the US, in this regard, is reverting back to the way it has been my entire life. That said, totally agree that this needs to be made law that cannot be reversed. imo, the fact that our system of governance was used to implement these irrational policies is glaring evidence of flawed system design.

My understanding is that allowing males in female school sports has always been against Title IX, even when Biden made changes since his changes were illegal/struck down in courts. However, the main recourse is for individuals to take to the violators to court. There certainly needs to be a less cumbersome process. SInce a bill opposing males in female sports has passed the House, my guess is it will eventually pass the Senate also, and Trump will, of course, sign it. Not all sports are attached to schools though, so I'm not sure women and girls will be protected by any bill, Executive Act, or Title IX.

As for the Olympics, whether men are allowed in the female category seems as if it will be determined by who is put in charge. A couple of the main contenders have made it clear they will keep female sports female. The Olympics screwd up so badly though, that lifetime boycott of them, regardless of what they do in the future, seems reasonable. Allowing male boxers in the female category isn't forgivable.

The signing the order, with the kids was such a wholesome moment. I am so happy for the US. Two years ago this felt like an impossibility.🥰🏆🏅

79% of the America people support this.......... 79%!!!!

What would you like to bet that quite a large proportion of the remaining 21% are still confused as to what "trans" actually means - ie are opposed to males cheating in women and girls sports.

Apparently a full third of adults in the UK thought a "trans woman" was a woman who wanted to be recognised as the opposite sex in a widely distributed survey just last year.

Yeah, a lot of people just don't want to know

Heck! I don't want to know!

Even if a survey is conducted in a manner that fully protects the privacy/anonymity of those that respond, there are still people who won't say how they really feel about something because the media/left/etc. have hammered into them that they are a bad person if they don't, at minimum, claim to have a certain belief.

Yes, that's true too. How shall I put this? I've never actually met an Australian who thinks that it's OK for men and boys to compete in women's or girls' sports.

I find it hard to believe that there are many people in other Anglophone countries who think that it's fair - certain trans identifying people aside.

I live in deep wokeistan, and what I've found is that most men disagree with this shit (but won't say it openly) and most women vehemently support it.

There's a lot of overlap between handmaidens and what the left calls feminists... aka the man-haters who think chivalry is sexist and adamantly claim they can do anything men can do. I have gotten into some very heated arguments with "strong independent women" (tm) telling me I'm supposed to pretend I'm physically equal to men who are a whole fucking foot taller than me or else I'm regressive, internalized misogyny, hurting other women, etc.

Letting men in places they don't belong is part of the "strong independent woman" (tm) starter pack because it validates their delusional belief that they are just as physically capable as men.

The women who claim to believe all of that surely are aware on some level of what utter bullshit that particular set of luxury beliefs is.

The worst irony IMO is the fact that only a few short years before these beliefs were attempted to be mainstreamed by men who claim to be women, the same progressive/liberal women would've been *all in* for project #MeToo. This is proof of how easily so many people can be manipulated in service of remaining a part of their own tribe, which honestly should scare people.

The problem is that these people who think it is fair, actually believe that a man can turn into a woman...or at least they claim to believe that. They claim to believe that once the man has been on estrogen for a certain period, or has transitioned before puberty, the advantage that most males have over most females no longer exists. This is not true, but they claim to believe it. I think that a male who "transitioned" before puberty should also be excluded from women's and girl's sports. Still, some people claim to believe that they should be given a pass, even if they are against males in female sports.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure that it's only a professed belief in the vast majority of cases. I note that none of these people would even dare to suggest the creation of third spaces/categories to accommodate men and boys who claim not to be male, and they themselves fail to mention trans-identifying women save for an attempted dunk on the "other side".

It's almost as if they're actually cognisant of the differences between the sexes and the fact that it's occasionally rather significant, after all.

This is great! I hope the UK will stop this nonsense soon and the outcome of the case before the Supreme Court will support this.

This a good first move. I would caution against laws to try to control things like sport and recreation, the more you let governments control every aspect of personal life the easier it becomes for a government to control you in every aspect of your life.

Yes deny the sports bodies Federal (or government in other countries) funds if they allow this shit. Same with educational institutions. But also remove the tax exemptions from them if they don't tow the line. And. Don't just deny the athletes a visa do the same for the Olympic committee members too, as a sanction even outside of the games if they allow or do not actively prevent men in women's sport.

The TRA meltdowns are going to be glorious, they cannot get away with openly hating women anymore, invading our spaces or stealing prizes never intended for them. The failed male athletes cannot cheat their way to medals or "glory" anymore. The con is over and everyone is finally acknowledging that reality matters.
