"My birth name carries a lot of abuse with it"! What kind of infantile minded cretin speaks like that? You're supposed to be an adult, act like one.

If you want to say you disliked your original name so you legally changed it then fine. When these people can converse like grown ups I may consider cutting them some slack and givie consideration to the things they say! Until then nah! Names don't "carry abuse"! They may invite abuse if you were called Adolf, Sadam or Osama I suppose😂 .

She should have the username The Piss Poor Lawyer! If it took her 7 years to realise what she was being told (sold) by the TRAs was all lies and BS, then her analytical skills require development, if she indeed has any!

She is one of only two women who I've ever felt strongly inclined to block on Twittex. The unhinged TRA hatred she spewed simply seemed never-ending. All the time and energy she devoted to it made me wonder if she was actually employed/working.

This is why I find it hard to believe she's sincere. She was pretty hardcore with her vitriol up to about 5 minutes ago. Her reasoning skills were also so poor I find it hard to believe she could have passed the bar to begin with. Although to be fair, my primary care doc thinks men can be women. Expertise is dead.

Your PCP thinks that men can be women?!? Christ Almighty that's pretty damned sobering!

I've made sure that none of my doctors buy into this lunacy - but I do realise that I'm fortunate in that regard.

Her lack of critical analytical skills would not make her a very good lawyer. Uncontrolled rage is the other thing that hampers one in a trade that favors a level head.

That said, I've seen people who whipsaw between ideologies. They do not make trustworthy allies because they swap belief systems for things other than reasoned thinking or therapy, which means they can switch back on a dime. And that is if this is genuine.

I do wish her the best, however. She seems to be under some distress and I am grateful JKR privately reached out to her. I don't think it behooves the GC movement for us to be savage towards people who are clearly suffering. On the other hand, I've reluctantly had to cut ties with a number of prominent GCs who claim to be on the left over their racist and pro genocide stances. If even a conservative like KJK can show sympathy toward women in Muslim countries, then why are purportedly left women who have some understanding of US history and foreign policy so supportive of our growing police state? This movement risks fracturing if we don't stay true to the "radical" element in our name.

Whether this person tries out an "Amy Dyess" or worse only time will tell. I don't really like the way some people have been obsequiously crawling up her - but if this decision to detransition/desist is in fact genuine, I do wish her all the best.

Hi Karen, your screen does not match what you are saying. None of the first tweet discussions are showing up.

If this woman is saying she is detransitioning let us take it with a boulder sized grain of salt.

She is obviously a few sandwiches short of a picnic and needs attention negative or positive desperately. Just feel sad for her and ignore her.

Legit or no, I'm leery of detransitioners since 99.9% of the time, they're just switching from one identity to another. They need to step back and figure out why they were susceptible to clear nonsense in the first place, and then accept responsibility for the part they played in spreading it.

I have never heard a single one apologize for the harm they've done to women's rights, familial relationships, or basic civility. Congrats on recognizing you were harmed and all, but testifying you made stupid choices is only half of the fix. I especially don't want to hear from a certain former troon who talks endlessly about her wonderful surprise baby, when she has been part of a cult that actively destroyed that loving bond for other parents.

The narcissism is still fully engaged with these folks.

so sad...I grieve for the good feminists who feel the need to pet the troon (or the poon)

I grieved for the loss of Julie Bindel

It's difficult to establish trust after that kind of betrayal

What did Julie do?

She didn't do anything. She calls a male "she"

It's difficult to trust a woman claiming to speak for "women" when she thinks males can be women

Her pet troon is Katy Jon Went, a person Bindel has referred to as a "treasure".

Karen there is only one Queen of the TERFs and you are she. All others are pretenders to the throne.

I followed some detrans accounts, and pretty much with only a few rare exceptions, the detrans is just another way of begging for validation, just from the other side. They are high maintenance and immature.

But that aside, I tend to stick to my principles:

1. You can't detransition, because transition isn't a thing. You can only stop the foolery.

2. Once you stop the foolery, the only thing left for them to do is hang their heads in shame. This can either be through sincere apology, and/or actively campaigning against the foolery.

It is not something to be proud of.

As someone who stopped believing in the nonsense before I did some damage to myself; so a "detransitioner" myself: my personal take is that anyone who stops believing their delusions are healing, BUT it still requires therapy, or some sort of mental-awareness to avoid doing (this stupid shit) again.

There are few people who are severely mentally ill, and get stuck in a cycle of altering their body, and de-altering. Is this the case here; I hope not.

I am not a fan of the word "detransistioner" and any other version of it, as saying it as a term only reinforces the idea someone out there IS a valid transgender individual. When there's no such thing.

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed in Rowling, and I have no idea what possessed her to single out this particular woman as "the bravest" one to speak against the trans BS. I'd rather see her supporting Kellie-Jay Keen, but we all know this is not happening as long as Rowling is friends with Julie Bindel :( However, Rowling is a net positive for terfs currently, so I'm not denouncing her for this. But she's definitely no longer the Queen Terf in my book. KJK for the Queen!)

Honestly, I think Erica is playing another game. Only time will tell if she is sincere or not, but I won't jump on the bandwagon to congratulate her just yet. There are too many professional victims on social media or the "I need attention" people. I find it interesting, if some of these people didn't have the medical complications they say they have or had, would they still be in the cult?
