My issue with Informed Consent (Im in UK) is that doctors choose and pick what they tell patients, and then they say that information found online is unreliable etc.
And I want to stress that I purely speak here on information given by doctors and feedback from them when patient asks about something found online - from my personal experience with: NOT in context of gender care or anything like that, just healthcare in general.
My issue was quite similar in a way to example mentioned, I also have fibroids and was seeking suitable treatments. As all hormonal contraceptives combined with fibroids made me bleed constantly, I was hoping for tubal ligation, specifically to preserve ovaries. When I asked what is biggest danger/risk - I was told that “if i change my mind NHS won’t cover reversal”. Now this doctor knew very well that I have other health issues that prevent me from carrying pregnancy, so it was not a option or question of “changing my mind”- I basically have no option of carrying safely - for myself and baby - pregnancy to term. And thats B/S she- a woman (!) doctor- told me when I ask about risks. Now when I asked after searching information online - can it happen that ovaries will not remain functional-doctor stated that “of course, its a surgery- blood supply can get damaged”. She said that like its nothing - knowing that I specifically was seeking this treatment to keep ovaries working - with my many other health issues I already have I don’t need to create myself new ones where I don’t need to. Now - here where misinformation comes: when I asked about POST TUBAL LIGATION SYNDROME- I was basically told its a myth and that sources of information online are unreliable (with in very big simplification from information found I think PTLS is pretty much caused by ovaries being damaged suring procedure, most likely due to blood supply disruption- which she just said CAN actually happen - so contradictory information here).
My point is - on given example - you either trust doctors that will have your life in their hand on operating table and take what they say - and I think thats where majority people without conspiracy theories beliefs are - or you decide doctor actually does not have your best interest at heart- in which case it would be foolish to allow them cut your body up.
Again- Everything else aside, this is NOT a comment on gender care itself or mental state of people who seek it - just my personal experience with what they try to pass as “informed consent “ - and how it’s possible that people seem to ignore information available out there: you basically either trust in doctors - who will tell you straight in your face that information you talking about it’s not correct/factual, or you trust information- which will leave you without healthcare support with given issue. 🤷♀️
Additional info: I have read through 13 pages of “consent forms” for that specific procedure- it has not been clarified there either, so basically you’re up for a nasty surprise if it happens, and you trusted doctor over internet.
It's one thing to list possible side effects and alternatives. But you also need to make sure the patient is comprehending what you are saying. Doctors have gotten used to figuring patients are just idiots they are treating. In Skrmetti, Clarence Thomas quoted one doctor who said when he listed the side effects to kids, it was like talking to a blank wall.
As for Genspect, I suspect Karen is right: they are positioning themselves to take over from the increasingly discredited WPATH as the reasonable alternative. NGOs gotta guarantee their survival above all else.
I mean kids don’t have a good concept of “lifelong” health contition, they literally can’t comprehend what it really means to be patient dependent on drugs for life. Hence they shouldn’t be ones making this decision. I was very stupid when it comes to health way into my 20’s.
I thought people with Fibromyalgia are just pure lazy cause how can you tell me you sit in bed whole day and can’t move, c’mon… stress? what stress? how can something you can’t see/hear affect your actual physical health? Insomnia? lol, just skip the day and you will fall asleep easily day after.
Now life has straightened me out, I have fibromyalgia now and now I understand how you can’t move and get out of bed. I also now understand stress funnily enough, since fibro affect my health and income. And my insomnia got ridiculous… so life gave me first hand experience to understand, but again well into my 20’s I was stupid and ignorant asshole.
Another thing is side effects- I am not trans personally, but I had treatment that affected my bone density.
And right now I have 4 screws and rods holding my spine and T12 vertebrae in place, and I am missing 3 centimetres of bone in my dominant arm (bone is completely detached from elbow joint). And this one will not get implant cause bone isn’t strong enough to hold it in place. Wanna know how I lost 3 cm of bone? I got muscle cramp, and my bone was so weak that muscle cramp squeezed it into dust….
You can’t comprehend consequences like that till you actually live through it, even adult would assume it won’t happen to them. I was told that as long as I get DEXA (bone density) scan every 4 years I will be fine, cause we’ll be able to catch any issues early. Also I was young and fit- side effects are for elderly people with compromised immune systems, are they not? Now joke’s on me, my arm did the thing 1 month after dexa scan…. so I guess we did not in fact caught it early… or at all. I didn’t see it coming as adult, how can anyone expect kids under 16 to?
I couldn't imagine what it would be like to live in constant pain but I ended up there for quite a number of years. Long term thinking is every child's weakness -- the only solution to which is puberty so their prefrontal lobes can develop.
When you see drug ads casually list some horrible side effects, I wonder why anyone takes them at all or are they even paying attention. I'm still bothered by whatever the hell "unusual urges" are. Like, somehow, I'm going to fancy some kale in the middle of the night? Or am I going to decide to beat someone to death with a claw hammer? Well, maybe the latter is not so unusual.
Thank you Karen for being the only media creator (that I know) speaking out against Genspect. I shared another video of yours about Graham L. and Nicholas Contino and right away a male in my comments pulled the whole "nobody's perfect/don't divide us" gaslighting bullshit when I agreed with your perspectives on Graham.
It's really something that so few content creators do--there have been at least two TERFs with sizeable followings who were so targeted by Genspect simps that they threw in the towel, regrettably, though it has distilled the media voices against Genspect down to the pure, clear voice of Karen Davis. Thank goodness for her. She brings so much to the table. There are many notable TERFs who agree 100% with the YKR perspective from their positions of having been involved in the resistance to 'trans'-ideology since before Genspect was the dog and pony show it is now. It's really become so smarmy an organization, one hates to associate one's self with it even to criticize it. That's where pedophiles used to hide--in the taboo of even acknowledging it's real, but with Genspect, they aren't hiding, they are there in the background persistently and not yet sensationally trying to normalize pedophilia.
I'm sad to hear about the women who threw in the towel. Big organizations have so much power and control. The more I'm learning the more disturbed I grow about Genspect and their connection to child rapists and rape apologists.
Yes, me, too. There may have been other considerations for those persons quitting, both men and women TERFs, just in case they are readers here I wouldn't want to purport to be speaking for any of them personally. Speaking out against Genspect is wearing, and the rise of Genspect, and the infiltration they are continually trying to do in TERF World is can be demoralizing. At least one strong TERF worthy of calling herself a TERF is speaking at Albuquerque--they put her name on the roster, and they didn't have any other names that looked remotely interesting: California atty Erin Friday, who is a real hard fighter for justice for Women and girls in California. They might be just using her as a masthead to pull in others, idk. I feel that the whole town of Albuquerque deserves to be warned that Genspect AND WPATH's el pervos will be swarming there just as they did in Lisbon last year: keep the kids home! Please do talk about it, too, it makes a difference to see that more of us are willing to confront it, to counter those who don't see the hypocrisy of lifting up an organization that is a Trojan Horse for pedo apologia, of acceptance of Minor Attracted Persons, aka, perverts. As if hanging out their shingle with "pedo apologists" on line 3 wasn't enough to make people raise up on their hackles, they will step in it big time one day, hopefully before they've done too much damage, and we'll be there to take the incriminating photos and clap 'em in cuffs. :- )
Exulansic has nothing on you. Anti-cutting-up-kids lobbyists really need to give you a platform and a microphone because you would smoke them like the troony tunes they are!!!!
Thanks for covering genspect, Karen. I'm from terf island (Yeah, I'm Brit'ish!) and honestly, it feels like genspect have some kinda special protections or something - all the usual British terfs who comment on this troonery stuff avoid talking about genspect; when I asked quite a well known one of them (on here, actually) about genspect I was met with, Well, what first felt to me like defensiveness, and then specifically defensiveness of Stella O'Malley, & then, after I clarified my comment (I mean, I wasn't rude or insulting anyone, just asking questions - like, Why do we need a 'charity' like Genspect promoting ANY trans ideas to kids at all? I don't think you can argue that they don't promote this stuff - the clues in their name!) But she just blanked me/ignored me altogether. She couldn't, or wouldn't, anwser. It's like, even amongst the terfs, you're not allowed to question genspect and you're especially not allowed to question the (imo rather dubious) motives of Stella o'Malley. I don't believe O'Malley wants to stop transing children, because she makes money out of it, she gets fame out of it, she's invested in it up to her neck... I just fail to see why genspect even needs to exist at all when we all know that 'gender' is simply 'sex stereotypes' and every UK terf I ask about this just leaps to o'Malleys defence. I don't get it. I really don't get it. So Big Thanks to you for covering this! Xxx
5:46 But Karen! How are they ever going to be able to surgically castrate and otherwise maim the select few "genuine trans people" if they don't poach at least a few practitioners from WPATH?!?
These young neurodivergent people are scarcely going to castrate themselves!
Remember what I said about many a word spoken in jest?
I'll say this here because I doubt any of these kids will ever read it and I don't want to put ideas in their heads. That used to happen quite often back in the 50's and 60's! The ultra-femme trannies used to do just that, castrate themselves, with little more than a shot of lignocaine and a razor blade.
its not the same thing. cantor and blanchard arent they themselves fetishists. their job is to treat ppl with sex intrest related vices. each household creates a ton of trash and probably doesnt care what happens to it after the garbage service occurs. but metro management has to address this issue all the way. they dont have the luxury of pretending it magically disappears. its someones job to place water on fires, protect the public from bad guys, manage trash and manage peoples whose vices have become a danger to the public. i confess i dont know everything about cantor and blanchard or why genspec would continue to be involved with them or if they do.
but i do feel bailey is a dangerous activist. hes trying to prove that mens choice to act out their vices should be considered a right by claiming they dont have a choice if they are aroused or not. to bailey when men are aroused thats like a holy thing and mens wives should stfu if they have a problem with their mens sexual weirdness that they discover on the internet and everyone else should let pedos be themselves. the dude is dangerous and misogynistic to say the least
They're ALL on the Virtuous Pedophile website as supporters. Cantor has said that 'sex' between adults and children isn't always harmful for the child. He's also said that pedophilia is an orientation. Bailey has implied as much, too.
Certainly in the UK there was always available the information about these treatments. Firstly information provided by the doctors (whether the patient listened/understood is another matter). Trannies seem to have selective hearing. Secondly if you an read every pack of HRT comes with an Information & Warnings sheet. Typically these are 80cm x 60cm (32 x 24 inches). Presumably these people can read!
I know. But they love to crawl over a detransitioner with faux concern only to use the unfortunate person's misery for their own purposes. Cohn's late revelation that he isn't actually a woman makes him the perfect stooge and a much more acceptable face than Miranda Yardley!
Interestingly, I could not find any "Celibate Pedophile" website, nor, any article called "The Middle Path" by Bailey. Perhaps if one is going to cite such things, you can add links? I don't trust anything I cannot verify for myself online.
This is ACTUALLY what Cantor and Bailey have at the Virtuous Pedophile website:
‘Pedophilia’ refers to the sexual interest in children, whereas ‘child molestation’ refers to the actual behavior. Despite the common notion that all pedophiles are child molesters in waiting, very many–perhaps even most–pedophiles know they cannot express their sexual interests and work to be celibate, for their lifetimes, with no support from anyone. These are the Virtuous Pedophiles, and they deserve every credit and support we can provide them. All our current science indicates that men don’t ask to be attracted to children any more than anybody else asks to be attracted to whatever they’re attracted to. The media are rife with broadcasters and editorialists who capitalize on the anger and hate that can puff up ratings. Rarely discussed are the crimes that don’t happen and the people who are in a position that most of us could hardly imagine. With all of my science and all of my research, I have not been able to find a way to turn pedophiles into non-pedophiles. But I do believe that, until there is such an option, it is the Virtuous Pedophiles who are doing what is ethical and what only few of us can envision. I congratulate them, their sense of right and wrong, and their humanity. I suspect that only few people could pass the test we demand of them.
James Cantor PhD
Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine; editor-in-chief of Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research and Treatment; and a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Sexual Aggression, The Journal of Sex Research, and Archives of Sexual Behavior.
A growing body of research suggests that a large proportion of pedophilic men—-perhaps a majority—-have never touched children sexually. I have for years felt sympathy for pedophiles and thought that society should do better by them. No one chooses their sexual preferences, and pedophiles have a burden that most of us do not have. They should be helped more and demonized less. Many can resist their urges, and we ought to make it easier for them to do the right thing. Making pedophiles feel that they are worthless and despised can only make it more difficult for them. Virtuous Pedophiles performs a vital role by providing a community for pedophiles who are committed not to sexually abuse children. Older, more experienced members provide examples to younger members, as well as offering practical advice on how to live law-abiding, satisfying, and meaningful lives.
"Older, more experienced members [of virtuous pedos] provide example to younger members... " Gee, what could go wrong with middle-aged pedos having direct contact with teenage boys who might think they're pedos? It's like they don't realize people can THINK, that we have foresight: this isn't our first rodeo with manipulators. Here's a funny analogy for you: Lots of young men get angry at things in life, and think they'd like to destroy someone, but they control themselves and don't do it. Now, do they think of themselves as "Virtuous Murderers"? No, people who AREN'T something don't title themselves AS something 'stuck in first gear'--they HAVE the other gears, but we're expected to blindly trust that they won't switch gears, because they've said they're ‘virtuous’. This is sleight-of-mouth trickery to aid in 'normalizing' pedophilia: combining the word pedophile with the word "virtuous." Think about that, and about the victims of the ones who will lose their 'virtue' having convinced the neighborhood parks and rec center that they have 100% control over themselves from acting out. We can skip ahead here, since this is not a new thing: for pedos to conceal themselves in the robes of ... well, priests. Instead of oddballs like Blanchard, Cantor and Bailey using their professional lives trying to normalize something that is antithetical to civilization: grown men raping children, why aren't they using their deep understanding of pedophilia to design clinically-proven behavioral modification programs for them while also recognizing that because, if what they say is true: it's in their wiring, pedos will always present a danger to children. Why don't they instead tell us how do we recognize a pedo if one applies at Park and Rec? How can we humanely restrict those who have not committed crimes to living away from any possibility of accessing children? It would beat prison or living on the lam. It will be a monastic life, but without any secret child access like some monasteries, turns out, seems to have had. Attend mandatory negative reinforcement sessions: show them photos of children in a playground; zap them in the neck with an unpleasant voltage of electricity? That's the direction we need to go with pedophiles, not toward pedo apology, acceptance, normalization, none of that. Our world is way too full of dangers for women and children directly from too many mens’ deviant, entitled and remorseless behavior, now driven harder by porn escalation. It's not the time to LOOSEN restrictions, and never will be regarding pedophiles. Oh, and since you've shown you're very clever at internet research, I won't trouble myself to PROVIDE YOU with links to prove my point, but rather some just for more context:
" only few people could pass the test we demand of them." - I strongly disagree! This implies that men are somehow super strong & heroic for not molesting children? Nobody get's sex on demand, many people go many years without indulging themselves sexually and let's not even start on how many women never get to experience sexual satisfaction at all. No, I can't support or defend Cantor's comment you quote here - if you read it, it's just glorifying paedophiles & arguing that paedophillia is a sexuality the same as heterosexuality, homosexuality or lesbianism - which it Most Certainly is Not! And I don't think you need a Phd to know that, either.

J. Michael Bailey PhD
