Speaking of bias (which basically every decision I made today was based on), if a "clinician" believes in the absurdity of true trans s/he is going to have a confirmation bias. I think of all the things my friends and family would have told a shrink about my 7yo self-

-Very attached to her sneakers with the hole on the side that allow her big toe to stick out.

-Hates wearing Mary Janes.

-Scibbles on the faces of Barbies with permanent marker, then rips their heads off and tosses them across the room.

-Prefers to climb trees and jump off roofs with the boys to playing house with the girls.

-Goes out in the rain and plays in mud puddles.

-Dressed up as Casper, a male, the Friendly Ghost on Halloween.

These true trans nutters would have been encouraging my parents to get my breasts chopped off the next year, when I started developing at age 8yo.

Even without the pedo and AGP support, which are huge and ridiculous things to overlook, the fact they believe in true trans is reason enough to dismiss GenSpect.

Same.When I got attached to my brother's old jackets, if my parents were true trans psychos, I'd have been a troon test-case back in the 70s.

Thanks for covering the comment Karen. I too do not support the work of Genspect the main issue (there are many) I have with them is their reticence in simply failing to condemn any form of child transition. Child transition, even social transition should be illegal and anyone who assists or facilitates it should be guilty of a crime. But just because I don't support Genspect it doesn't follow that I have to dismiss every effort they make out of hand as negative or place upon it an intent which is not clearly evident.

I am not a psychologist nor a Psych Major I was for many years a very successful lawyer and as such I never condemn or rely upon a document without fully evaluating its content, effect and intent.

As for some of the points you raised here today, the covering letter to the document explains for whom the surveys are intended and their purpose.

it says the following about the Family & Friend Survey;

1. The Family and Friends Survey - This assessment gathers observations from family members and others "who have known your child well over time". When multiple observers share similar perspectives, their collective insight becomes harder to dismiss.

So it is obviously not to be given to those who do not or have not "known the child well over time".

These surveys are clearly not intended to be assessment tools nor are they held out to be. It seems that they are intended to be a way for parents to ensure their thoughts, observations and the basis of record for any objections they may have to the child's treatment. So that future issues with clinicians who have perhaps medicalised the child against the wishes of or in contradiction of any direct opposition from the parent cannot later be obscured or denied by those clinicians. Nor anybody else facilitating it.

On the Parental Survey it says, amongst many other things the following.

"This ensures that the clinician cannot so easily dismiss the family’s views – they are now on file, and they can be referred to in the future should they be required. We also recommend sending the completed survey to GPs and insurance companies to ensure that all parties involved are informed about the range of issues associated with medical transition."

It also goes on to say;

"Remember: questioning the current approach isn’t about rejection. It’s about ensuring young people receive appropriate care that first does no harm. Your knowledge of your child matters, and these tools will help you advocate effectively for thoughtful, comprehensive assessment. "

Karen I know and fully understand your views about existence of Gender Identity Disorder (stupid name it has nothing to do with "Gender") how could anybody not 🤣. Even though we disagree on some issues both you and your channel does good work calling out those who perpetuate excesses and appalling behaviours of so many who push and promote transgenderism.

If you're a lawyer you should know that if there are enough contradictory statements in a document, the content therein becomes meaningless.

Like I said, this questionnaire lacks internal consistency.

It can be so, but that is quite rare, there is usually enough to discern a document's intent. Despite the issues this document has it clearly is not an exercise in supporting the BS "True Trans" narrative. There is no alternative letter provided to support the position for parents who may believe there child should have treatment, its all oppositional.
